This is a heartwarming story of a family’s journey from humble beginnings in Calabria, Italy, to becoming a cornerstone of the bakery community in Canada. 

Our father Ercole , began baking bread for neighbors in their small town of Malito and after some hard times typical in those days he immigrated to  Toronto in the 1950s in search of better opportunities.

In 1957 the family purchased Bradford Bakery and renamed to “Pane Victoria,” introducing Calabrese-style bread to the Toronto. Over time, various brothers started other successful businesses, including Superior Bakery, Colosseum Bakery (now Calabria Bakery), and Christina Taralli.

From 1984 to present, Calabria Bakery has been an integral part of our community, evolving from traditional bakery, evolving a traditional bakery focused on bread and pastries to a vibrant bakery café offering a full range of delicious creations. Now in its third generation of family ownership, we are proud to serve Markham, Scarborough, and Unionville with fresh bread, pastries, sandwiches, pizzas, focaccia, hot meals, and sweets—made with the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship that our founders began with.
